PenCursive Privacy Policy
In short: PenCursive does not collect, send or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no internet access. Everything a child writes stays on the device.
Who we are
PenCursive is a cursive handwriting practice app for children, made by Vinner Consulting, LLC ("we"), 5900 Balcones Dr Ste 100, Austin, TX 78731-4298, United States. Contact: ronray@vinnerconsulting.com.
Information we collect
We do not collect any information. The app does not ask for the internet permission or any other Android permission, and it contains no third-party code for advertising, analytics, crash reporting or sign-in.
Information stored only on the device
To work, the app keeps the following in its private storage on the device. We never receive it.
- Learner profiles as typed in by a parent (for example a first name or nickname) and the parent PIN.
- Practice progress, stars, rewards and settings.
- Handwriting strokes, used to check the writing, to show it back to the child, and for a small "trophy" gallery.
This data is deleted when the app is uninstalled. The app does not use Android's automatic cloud backup.
Parent backup export and import
In the parent area, a parent can export progress to a backup file and import it again, for example to move to a new tablet. The parent chooses where the file is saved, using Android's own file picker. We do not receive this file. Any copy the parent saves or shares is under the parent's control.
Spoken feedback
The app speaks short feedback sentences using recorded audio and the device's own text-to-speech service. The app does not record audio and does not use the microphone or camera.
Children
PenCursive is made for children. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children. There is no chat, no sharing between users, no links to websites in the app and no in-app purchases. Settings and the backup export are in the parent area.
Sharing
We do not sell, share or transfer any data to anyone, because we do not have any.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, we will update this page and the effective date before that version is released.
